On the 11th July 2019 we stepped into a world where the story of a spacecraft met with memories of many individuals. Where Skylab wasn't just a tale of space exploration but an individual story and experience. Welcome to the behind-the-scenes of an event that was more than just a gathering—it was a launchpad for imagination, starting with the Skylab costume competition:
The Mission: Igniting Curiosity
It all started with a communication from Esperance Museum to the film director.
There was talk about the assistance in acquiring new data on Skylab. A partnership was initiated quickly.
The Alliance: Uniting Visionaries
With the blueprint of a successful U.S. premiere in hand, crafted alongside the USSRC, Dwight didn't just answer the call— he rallied the troops. Together with the Museum and the Esperance Council, a stellar alliance was formed.
The Event: A Galactic Gathering
It was no ordinary anniversary event; it brought together over 1000 individuals, with Skylab astronaut Ed Gibson joining via Skype. 300 attendees gathered to watch the film, weaving the Skylab story with personal recollections, crafting a truly unforgettable stellar experience..

Director Of The Film "Searching for Skylab, America's Forgotten Triumph"
Great to see you interested in this event.
Few know about Skylab and I have been hoping to change that. I wrote books, edited mission reports, restored much data and in the end, I made a movie.
A movie that shows you how Skylab changed the game for space exploration... not just for America, but for the whole world. Trust me, you've never seen anything like this before. And you're going to love it!
