Two legends of the Apollo space program, astronauts Jack Lousma and Rusty Schweickart, participated in an autograph and photo session Thursday Nov. 16 2023 from 11am to noon at the American Space Museum, Downtown Titusville, FL, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Skylab, America’s first space station.

Rusty Schweickart flew on the Apollo 9 earth-orbiting mission in March 1969, testing the moon ships with two other astronauts. In 1973 he was the backup commander for Skylab. Jack Lousma spent 56 days on Skylab in 1973. Col. Lousma also was commander of the third Space Shuttle flight, STS-3.

The event helped promote the screening of the documentary “Searching for Skylab: America’s Forgotten Triumph” and the discussion panel that followed at the IMAX theatre at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.
